🏉 Rugby Committee Update!

The rugby committee has held five meetings so far this year and things are off to a strong start!
We’re focusing on two main goals in 2025:

Getting more people involved so CG and Oskar have a more sustainable workload.
Building long-term structure for a stronger and more stable rugby section.

So far, we’re happy with the progress on both!

👕 Niklas – Merch & Sponsors

Niklas has improved our club shop setup and secured around 50 rugby balls for the teams.
He also ordered new match kits for the men’s team and added extra jerseys for P18 down to U8. These should arrive by May 28.

He’s also building a small merch & sponsor group – reach out if you’d like to join!

🎉 Sanna – Social Events

Sanna jumped right in and organized a successful EKF Day!
Next up is PEP Day at Vallatorpskolan (May 26, 12:00–15:00) where we’ll introduce rugby to students. She needs 2–3 volunteers for that day. Please reach out to Sanna if you can volunteer for this!

She’s also forming a small social events team to plan things like the annual club dinner in October.
If there’s interest, the group may also host a Women’s Rugby World Cup Final viewing party in September.

🏉 Nigel – Sport

Nigel led a preseason workshop for all youth coaches and managers – all age groups were there (except senior men).
We’re excited to welcome rugby league legend Anthony Sullivan, who will now help coach our coaches!

Together with the team, Nigel is developing a training pathway from U8 to P18 so each age group builds on the next.

📢 Alex – Communication

Alex created a vision and mission statement for the rugby section – currently under review by the committee. It’ll be shared with members this autumn.

He’s been posting on Facebook and Instagram, and so far we’ve seen (Jan–Apr 2025):

📈 Facebook: +29% visibility, +91% engagement
📸 Instagram: +116% reach

Going forward, we’ll still share scores and big achievements, but we’ll also post more about:

Recruitment
Daily life in the club (training, events, etc.)
Our values: Fun, Development, and Community

Alex is forming a small communications team (1–2 people) to help with content like photos and graphics.

🧭 Oskar – Committee Chair

Oskar leads the committee’s work. He created a WhatsApp group and SharePoint folder to keep things organized.
He’s also worked on the annual planning wheel and helped Erikslunds Kamratförening hire a new administrator (“Kanslist”).

🧑‍💼 CG – Head of Rugby Section

CG has focused on delegating tasks to other committee members and supporting them in their roles.
He’s also active in the Stockholm Rugby Union election committee and helped get two new clubs on the board: Stockholm Sharks and Stockholm Exiles, who weren’t previously represented.
